One Planet, One Humanity
In the context of the human experience, the notion of everyone in the world belonging to a single humanity, is a relatively new concept. Throughout history, societal structures, religions, governments, and economic powers have consistently worked against this prinicple by forcibly dividing and segregating people into different groups and classes.
The dire consequences of this form of dogmatic (in)human division are evident around the world today in first and third world nations alike. The disparity between mass poverty and elite minority priviledge has never been greater in human history.
We all inhabit a single, surprisingly delicate, eco-system where the actions in one hemisphere can, and do, dramatically affect regions on the other side of the globe.
Our core needs for healthy food, clean water, breathable air, shelter, comfort, social belonging, individual identity, and overall well-being, are shared by every living person on this planet.
Our physical appearances and cultural customs may vary from one community to another, but values of dignity, fairness, and human spirit are embodied in each of us.
At Conscientious Technologies ™, we believe in the importance of celebrating and empowering our undeniable connectedness as one people, of one humanity, sharing a single planet, the well-being of which, we are both the stewards and beneficiaries.
Localism as a Global Solution
Even the most cursory objective examination of human history yields a clear and consistent argument in favour of decentralization, also known as localism (local-ism). Localism can apply to many aspects of social and economic governance including economy, education, media, and government.
Localism is about having local communities take part in, and have greatest authority over, their resources, their representatives, their news, and their local economy.
Localism has proven to be an exceptionally strong model for economy. Local goods and service providers of communities benefit directly from localism. Instead of relying on limited consolidated sources of products from foreign transnational corporations, localism allows independent manufacturers and service providers to thrive within their own communities on much smaller scales and with greatest efficiency.
The quality of goods and services are markedly improved by localism. In a local economy model, customers generally (personally) know, or at least have easy access to, the owners and workers who provide their products. The feedback loop for quality and safety control is tightest with localism.
Independent operators can more easily afford to promote their businesses with localism. Instead of having to compete with the massive advertising budgets of global trade multinationals, local business owners can rely on local publications, and even word of mouth, to keep news of their shops alive and well.
Localism offers variety and redundancy in supply. The opposite of localism, globalism (aka global trade) has demonstrated the growing dangers of pooling sources of products into very few hands. Outbreaks of serious disease and mass distribution of toxic goods are just some well-documented examples of the dangers of globalism.
The tiny carbon footprint of localism cannot be challenged by the global trade model. By using local materials in the manufacture of products, and by retailing locally, the consumption of fossil fuels is dramatically reduced with localism.
Localism puts the power back into the hands of many people rather than exporting it to faceless corporate entities.
The localism movement has been growing tremendously in past years - much as an inevitable reaction to the devastating consequences of global "free trade" trade.

People Above Corporations
With the advent of industrialization, colonialism and centralization of power (religious, economic and political), became the dogma which appealed to, and benefited, the few, who now command disproportionate control over the many, who work hardest and at the lowest of human standards.
To futher entrench the largest populations into perpetual civil servitude, corporate laws and economic myths were established. In the most "civilized" countries, "corporate entities" have been extended equal if not greater protections and powers than actual PEOPLE. Today's "free market" "democracy" is based on majority by wealth - not majority by population.
While those who enjoy the greatest prosperity and insulation from social justice are miniscule in numbers, the disparity between this richest minority and the poor majority has grown to unprecedented levels!
Social justice demands that PEOPLE must be established as the ONLY representatives of democracy. Money must NOT translate into power, as it does today.
Environment Above Profit
In resounding solidarity, the largest transnational corporations, their media, and the governments they own, argue that ecomomy must never be put at risk by any protections of the environment. This can be expected of those who systematically horde (vitually expropriated) public resources and profit from environmentally disastrous practices - the physical consequences of which, their obscene wealth can forever protect them and their loved ones from.
While Wall Street governments and the cast and crew which recently brought down the world economy are crafting new ways to make financial games out of trading in pollution, REAL PEOPLE in large numbers around the globe are already experiencing the devastating and undeniable consequences of rampant industrialization and non-sustainable consumer lifestyles.
A healthy planet for all people must trump any eco-numb-ic game playing. Disaster capitalists and pollution traders must yield to the millions of unheard voices drowning in rising tides, starving from extinct food supplies, and choking on poisoned water and air.
Statesmanship Above Politics
Aristotle's philosophy of statesmanship has been supplanted by self-serving millionares and billionares who now occupy the "democratic" landscape. Celebrity and corporate media exposure overshadows actual issues and rational debate in modern politics.
ANY person of any sex, race, color, or creed, MUST be eligible to be heard by his/her prospective constituents based on the merit of their platform and commitment - NOT governed by any campaign purse.
Peace, Not War
The many costs of war are INDISPUTABLE, and when the TOTAL casualties of armed conflict are measured, both domestically and internationally, the arguments in favor of PEACE win hands down in the arenas of social AND FISCAL sensibility.
The business of profiting from bloodshed and supplying the necessary supportive paraphernalia to enable pre-emptive state tyrany MUST STOP. The dividends of peace offer a much greater reach and benefit many more than the war industry ever has, and ever will.
Social Justice for All
There can only be one kind of sustainable democracy - SOCIAL DEMOCRACY. All other forms are disingenuous facades, carefully crafted to enable elite minorities to exploit and profit from vast majorities - with complete social immunity. These are the very voices who raise the spectre of "communism" whenever they are challanged by those who understand and value the TRUE MEANING and importance of social democracy.
Those who are oppressed by "democratic capitalism" and "global trade" need no education in realizing the necessity for worldwide social democracy.
There is however, a very large population of those comfortable and ignorant enough, to fear any challenge to "their" status quo. Their trust in "mainstream media" combined with an atrophied sense of civic awareness and responsibility yields the greatest barrier to the realization of social democracy.
Regardless, it is only through social democracy that community well-being, security, and cultural freedom, can be enjoyed by everyone everywhere.
Intelligence, First
A vital key to every successful project is the gathering, qualifying, and SHARING of relevant information. The challenges local economic communities face today are aggrevated by the dominance of global transnational media (aka corporate media).
Identifying, promoting, and protecting valuable sources of intelligence are important steps in empowering localism and fair trade in any given community.
Changing Channels
Today's consumer world is based on mass perceptions/deceptions MANUFACTURED by corporate-owned mainstream media. Recognizing this fact, helps reconcile the DISCONNECT between "the message" and "the reality".
It stands to simple reason, that the largest companies on the planet, who own and control the media most people listen to, will project messages which promote their own corporate well-being - with little or no regard to informational context or social consequences.
Conscientious world citizens understand the importance of tuning out extreme consolidated media channels (O'Reilly Factor), and instead, tuning in to INDEPENDENT ALTERNATIVE MEDIA (Democracy Now!), which are more genuinely oriented to universal values of social justice and economic fairness.
Understanding Significant Issues
The big picture is the MOST IMPORTANT picture! Being able to accurately track and connect the dots between emerging and historic events around the world is the only way to plan, execute, and fine tune EFFECTIVE social movements.

The financial and political influence of global transnational conglomerates demands IMPECCABLE PLANNING by those who aspire to a universally fair, socially democratic, planet.
